These programs offer CME credit for physician laboratory directors. Lab directors that are not physicians may also use these program packages to meet the lab director continuing education recommendations of COLA accreditation. Due to the significance of the CLIA-defined responsibilities of the Laboratory Director, it is important for Laboratory Directors to participate in ongoing continuing education regarding the duties and responsibilities of the position.
COLA and COLA Resources, Inc. (CRI®) recognize the value of continuing education for all laboratory directors as a means to meet the ongoing responsibilities and duties of the position. COLA encourages Laboratory Directors to participate in continuing education every two years. Each of these program packages offers 4 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits.
