Calibration Verification

This session will explain in detail the requirements for calibration verification and for verifying the performance specifications of a new FDA-approved test system, including how  to perform  both  processes and how  to evaluate performance and interpret  your results. Sample worksheets will be provided.

Point-of-care Testing and Management

The driving concept in support of point of care testing (POCT) is to bring testing closer to the patient, and the test results conveniently and quickly to the healthcare provider in order to expedite diagnosis and subsequent treatment. The laboratory must be proactive in monitoring all aspects of point of care testing if quality care is to be maintained.

This presentation will include:

  •  Discussions of the challenges inherent in managing point of care testing
  • Strategies for ensuring compliance with all quality standards
  • Understanding how POCT is part of the future trends in healthcare delivery, and will continue to grow in importance
