MLE CEexpress 5 is two articles that provide an overview of urine cultures with an emphasis on bacterial identification. Part 1 discusses the significance of the culture and the importance of identifying potential pathogens isolated from urine specimens. Part 2 discusses types of agar used, the Gram stain, and simple biochemical tests for identification of common pathogens. It concludes with sample flowcharts for ID testing.
