This Quality System Essential course is about the human resources aspect of quality management. It includes discussions about taking the time to select qualified people, training them to do the work processes in your laboratory, and verifying that they remain competent in their job tasks. At the end of this course you will be able to:

• Outline at least seven important areas that are covered by QSE Personnel
• Categorize the major types of qualifications for laboratory jobs
• Differentiate between orientation and training
• Apply four parts of a training program needed for any laboratory job
• Interpret the intent and timing of competence assessment
• Summarize at least six documents that should be in every laboratory employee’s file
