This quality assessment plan was developed in response to the updated CLIA requirements of 2003. Those regulations emphasize the need to assess quality across the entire laboratory path of workflow, and this plan allows you to efficiently and effectively evaluate your general, pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic activities to meet your quality improvement goals. Use this plan to incorporate quality assessment into the daily routine of your laboratory to get a better picture of ongoing performance, rather than just at one point in time. This approach will allow you to derive more benefit from your quality assessment efforts.

This QA Plan was reviewed and updated in 2015 to incorporate review of Individualized Quality Control Plans (IQCP) as a QA Activity.
